A chateau transformed into a splendid hotel resort and Fruititherapy spa !
From the authentic Cistercian cellars to the slate rooftop, this stunning estate has been entirely renovated by its new proprietors. Special craftsmen conditioned in historical monuments were called
on to do the delicate work of restoring paintings, tapestries, fireplaces in white marble or porphyry… for a carefully remodelled rendition.
Understandably attached to Burgundy, their native region, the backers of this audacious project, have been particularly attentive to maintaining the historical character of the Château de Cîteaux. Significant works were undertaken to preserve the original state of the entire complex that includes an underground passage leading directly to outbuildings from the residence.
Mission accomplished !
Right in the entrance a grand central staircase descends to welcome guests into this once regal setting newly sprung to life. It leads to upstairs rooms sumptuously decorated with sculpted woodwork, crystal chandeliers… Grand and petit “salons” have preserved the majestic original tapestries, gilded mouldings and painted ceilings. The beautifully lit façades of the chateau were renovated in pure traditional style with an elegant golden-tinted lime plaster and quoin stones.
A terrace encircling the chateau on the 1st floor offers a privileged view of the park and estate vineyards situated just a few steps from the village of Meursault where the superb 13th century stone
steeple towers a full 53 metres high.
The chateau now counts 19 bedrooms, each conceived with refinement and attention to detail. Renovated in a contemporary style, the rooms are graced with natural materials to enhance the
atmosphere of timelessness and serenity. French breakfast is served on the terrace. As of May 2012, the doors of this historical splendour will open to all those who wish to discover its treasures.
Glassed in over an expanse of 25 metres, the Fruititherapy Spa has a generous connection withnature including natural lighting for the hammam, sauna, jacuzzi, massage parlours plus herb tea and
relaxation lounge quaintly called the “tisanerie”. The hammam, set in intimate, soothing stone vats, is imbued with the aroma of blackcurrant. From these treatment rooms there is a view through an arcade
of the wooded park that includes a basin with an ivy-covered island.
The designer-creator of the brand name La Cueillette is passionate about his native Burgundy :
“My idea was to create and assemble in the same setting an excellent place for fine dining, drinking and well-being, and to offer an original way to discover Burgundy. The grapevines and Nature recall indelible childhood impressions of odours, colours, euphoria in the vat house, good living the way we do it in this region…. This great wealth of salt and soul of the earth is what I want most to share to all those who are willing.”
Come discover this original, authentic and unique Burgundian-style approach.
The Spa Hotel Resort la Cueillette will open in June 2012. For further information or advanced reservations beginning now, kindly fill out the sheet here below.
